Koh Lipe isn't all beaches and snorkels, there's a wide range of activities and distractions on offer on the island to keep even the most fidgety of travellers occupied.
Please note, there are no ATMs on Koh Lipe. Although it is possible to exchange foreign currency or travellers cheques, or charge cash to your Visa or Mastercard you will understandably pay a premium for this service (usually around 5-9%).
Batik Lessons - Batik is a traditional method for producing beautiful designs on textile, and one of the region's most famous exports. The friendly Lipe Resort regularly runs batik courses. Beach Volleyball - Work up a sweat on any of Koh Lipe's beach volleyball courts. There are at least four on the island, including one at Barracuda Bar. Books - Feeling bookish? There are a number of book exchanges on offer right around the island. If you're up for a swap, it's worth bringing some old books with you for bargaining power. Internet - This surprises many visitors, but internet is widely available on Koh Lipe. The standard price is just 3 baht per minute, meaning you can easily keep your friends jealous by uploading your holiday photos to Facebook. Kayaking - While most people sink below the calm Andaman Sea for a spot of diving, there's plenty of fun to be had on the surface. Several local operators hire kayaks by the hour, or push the boat out and hire one by the day. Medical - Nothing serious, but just in case of an emergency on the island, we recommend travellers with medical expertise register at the dispensary. Sailing - Ever dreamed of sailing the high seas on a traditional sailboat? It's all possible on Koh Lipe. Talk to staff at Serendipity Resort about arranging a chartered sailing trip on S.Y.
