Around the centre of the island is the largest resort on the island and a very popular resort with Thai tourists and Thai package groups. The owners are a Chinese-Thai family, and they have built more than 170 rooms and bungalows, ranging from simple fan rooms to deluxe villas with hot water, air conditioning, and TVs. The Varin resort caters to all the needs of the package and inclusive tourist, with restaurant serving Thai and Western dishes, laundry service, beach sun loungers, Internet café, bar, and massage parlour. Snorkelling and boat trip can also be arranged from here. When the resort was first built, 6 years ago, many young trees were planted in the beach. These have now grown and provide pleasant shaded areas for tourists bathing on the idyllic stretch of white sand beach.
