New Resorts On Lipe?

I hear there are many new resorts opening on Lipe and some of the more ‘corporate’ resorts are really taking up alot of land on the beaches? Some even have swimming pools! What a shame.

    Poor old Koh Lipe!

That’s true, luckily there are still allot of spots on the island that remain rather quiet! Check out the beaches on Koh Lipe to learn more about where to go.

        Hi everyone,

I’m going to leave for Koh Lipe in two weeks. What are good places to stay? Some recommendations based on user experiences?

        Thanks

        Julien

@Jules408 Well it depends what budget you have of course… if you are a backpacker and your traveling alone or with a friend you can check out Jacks Jungle which offers good and cheap bungalows on Koh Lipe. I stayed there last year. It’s really nice.

I read a couple of articles and reviews about the island lately. What I was surprised about was that some of them where kind of harsh. They wrote that the beaches aren’t white anymore and the place had become to packed with tourists. I went to Lipe 3 years ago and it was absolutely a paradise on earth.

I’ve returned to Lipe last month and I must say some things definitely have changed, there is indeed a larger stream of tourist on the island, and allot of new resorts have been build the last couple of year. However, when exploring the island on my own, I found plenty of peaceful places to relax on. Most of the tourists stay before their hotel to chill out. If you walk a little further down the beaches you can discover spots where only a few come. When I was lying in the sand of a deserted area I felt home again!

@WeLoveKoLipe, it’s horrible to hear that the beaches aren’t white anymore! Let’s hope it wouldn’t be a place for more tourists!

@ChatLoveLipe: There are many tourists on Lipe in high season nowadays but the beaches are still white…..

Koh Lipe is developing, but it is still the best and most beautiful Island where you can sleep in thailand. But the key point is that, It’s in the middle of the Turatao natural park, so you can sleep and have fun in ko Lipe and visit all the untouched islands near by. To the people who complain for the developing I want remember that, you are not alone in the world and many people want enjoy koh Lipe, so if you think should not developing stop to go there and leave the resort you are using to somebody else. You are a tourist too and if you arrive in the island before other people it doesn’t make you a special tourist, you are just a tourist like everybody else.

@fiorentino: I agree with you. If some people think Lipe is too crowded in high season I advise them not to go there. It will leave more space to us who enjoys the island…

Like any other popular place on earth Lipe is developing and this means more tourists. Just let´s hope that, in spite of all tourists in high season, the lazy atmosphere remains.
