Diving on Koh Lipe

Beyond the idyllic shoreline of Koh Lipe lies some of the most magical underwater scenery in Southeast Asia. A realm of brilliant fish and dazzling coral reefs; it’s little surprise that the diving and snorkelling off Koh Lipe have become a highlight for visitors during their stay on the island.

Koh Lipe is one of the best places in Thailand to learn to dive, with five professional dive centres located on the island, offering a full range of PADI courses. There are over twenty-five dive sites surrounding the island, and almost all of them are protected by the Tarutao National Marine Park. As a result, the waters off Koh Lipe are filled with some of the most fascinating sea life, in the region’s pristine waters. Whether you’re diving or snorkelling off Koh Lipe, you can expect to soar the oceans with manta rays, whale sharks, nurse sharks, octopus and sea turtles plus millions of colourful fish, coral and other curious creatures. The dive and snorkelling packages on the island offer excellent value, with the added incentive that they will take you to visit some of the most serene spots around Koh Lipe.

Can you recommend and good Dive sites around lipe?

I have been to Koh Lipe last year. It was absolutely amazing! Me and my friends went snorkeling and took a 5 day course from a offical PADI diving school on Lipe. We went to various dive sites around the island. If you want some more information about the diving facilities on Koh Lipe, check out their Diving and Snorkeling page where you can also find more information about the available diving schools.

Hi John - Which Diveshop did you use?

@ILoveLipe We found a nice diving shop on sunset beach called Saybe Diving Sports. I can strongly recommend them. They have professional diving instructors and the course isn’t that expensive. We had a great time snorkeling around the dive sites of Koh Lipe.

That sounds great John! - do they have a website?

There are about 7 dive shops on Koh Lipe and they all offer a similar standard and service. The difference usually lies in the languages spoken and the general atmosphere. Koh Lipe is small enough to have a quick wander around before committing to any of the dive shops. See what works best for you!
